This is a gift booklet I created as part of a typography class. The text is from a discourse titled "I Have a Work for Thee" written by John C. Pingree Jr. The talk speaks about our purpose here on earth and the "work" that we need to accomplish in order to return to the presence of God.

The idea of accomplishing a great work inspired me to create the scribbled line drawing throughout the pages which is meant to mimic rough sketches found in a workbook or sketchbook. The continuous line is much like a life line, representing the ups and downs and messes of life. The simplicity and use of white space reflects the personality of my mom who I made this booklet for. She is a very "no fluff" person so I tried to keep the design simple yet still fun. I used the large colored numbers to break up the text and highlight four specific points made in the address. I used bright yet subdued colors for the numbers and light teal to separate the block quotes and other text elements from the subheadings and numbers.
